I was given Dr. Hellman’s name by my insurance company…
As the Clinical Director of The Solution Space, Dr. Hellman oversees our team of pre-licensed therapists. Pre-licensed therapists have completed their master’s degree in counseling or social work and are working toward full licensure by gaining supervised clinical experience. They are qualified to provide therapy while under supervision of a licensed professional like myself.
While you’ll be working directly with your therapist, insurance claims are processed under my credentials as the supervising licensed clinician. This is a standard arrangement approved by insurance companies like United Healthcare and Aetna, who have specifically credentialed our practice under the name, Dr. Hellman, for this purpose.
Our pre-licensed therapists have already gained hundreds of hours of direct client experience, and receive regular supervision and guidance from me to ensure you receive high-quality care. This model allows us to provide more accessible mental health services while maintaining excellent clinical standards.
What is a free initial consultation or phone call?
This is an opportunity for you to let me know why you are interested in my help and ask any preliminary questions about my services. Although a phone call is typically unnecessary, it may help you determine whether one of our therapists is a good fit for your needs.
Insurance?
We are in network with United Healthcare, and 2 CO Medicaid RAE’s (Rocky Mountain and CCHA). If you have another insurance, we are happy to submit forms to your insurance company, which can be a hassle for you, yet is easy for us. As long as we have your insurance information, we can send claims weekly.
Insurance companies have specific and limited ideas of what mental health care should be, and they expect treatment to take place in 50-minute sessions. Often insurance companies reimburse you for a portion of fees. You will need to contact your insurance provider for details regarding their out-of-network coverage.
Is your office handicap accessible?
Unfortunately not. We are on the second floor, and the building does not have an elevator. We offer online, secure therapy sessions for anyone unable to get to our offices in person.
With whom do you work?
We work with adults and children of all ages interested in finding efficient solutions to their problematic feelings and behaviors. Our approach is aimed at providing lasting, effective relief.
We work one-on-one with teenagers who experience individual issues, such as anxiety, panic attacks, or traumatic experiences. If their problems have a parental component, we refer them to family therapy.
How much does therapy cost?
If we are out of network for you, we charge $160/Hr. If you are in network with United Healthcare or Aetna, your copay is usually the “specialist” fee listed on your card.
How many sessions will I need?
After the first couple of sessions, your therapist can work on a treatment plan with you that includes a rough idea of how many sessions you might need.

The free initial consultation is offered in case you have more questions or to figure out a good fit. If you’re pretty certain you want to work with one of our therapists, go ahead and schedule your first therapy appointment instead.
How long are your meetings?
We do 55 minutes sessions. Couples sessions can be 90 minutes.
What should I do to prepare for our meeting?
Nothing is needed to do beforehand. Even if your goals are not fully clear to you, we can work to clarify them during the first hour of our meeting.
