Ketamine-Assisted Therapy
What is Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP)
Have you ever felt like your progress in traditional therapy has hit an invisible wall?
Ketamine-assisted therapy offers a specialized path for mental health and pain management by pairing the pharmacological effects of the medicine with professional therapeutic support. This process functions as a catalyst to help you access new perspectives and deeper emotional processing that traditional medicine often misses. By opening a window of increased neuroplasticity, this approach facilitates breakthroughs in areas where standard talk therapy or medications may have previously felt stuck.
Is this treatment right for you?
This treatment is specifically designed for individuals navigating:
-
Treatment-resistant depression
-
Anxiety disorders
-
PTSD and trauma-related symptoms
-
Chronic pain and stress
-
Situations where traditional therapy or medication has not provided sufficient relief
What can you expect?
Clinical research shows that ketamine therapy can provide rapid, significant relief. Most clients experience:
-
Sustained Mood Improvement: Up to 70% of patients respond positively, often seeing a reduction in depressive symptoms within days.
-
Enhanced Neuroplasticity: Ketamine triggers the release of BDNF—a protein that promotes brain cell growth—creating a “window” where the brain is more adaptable to healthy new patterns.
-
Lasting Relief: When paired with psychotherapy, these breakthroughs can lead to improvements that persist for weeks or months.
-
Structured Support: A temporarily “loosened” sense of self provides a unique opening for insights. We provide the essential therapeutic guidance before, during, and after sessions to help you navigate these experiences and turn them into meaningful, everyday change.
The Treatment Process
Our protocol ensures safety and maximum benefit through three phases:
1. Preparation: 2-3 sessions (1 hour each) focused on goal-setting and readiness.
2. Medical Screening: A consultation with Yuko Blue, NP, to screen for medical suitability and manage ketamine lozenge prescriptions.
3. Active Treatment & Integration: 6-8 weeks of bi-weekly sessions. Each includes a 2-hour ketamine experience followed by a 1-hour integration session to process and apply your insights.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is EAET, and how is it different from other therapies?
EAET focuses on identifying and expressing emotions that may be contributing to chronic pain. Unlike traditional talk therapy, it emphasizes emotional processing and expression as a path to physical relief.
Do I need a diagnosis to join the group?
No formal diagnosis is required. If you’re experiencing chronic pain—especially fibromyalgia, migraines, or back pain—and are open to exploring emotional contributors, this group may be a good fit.
I have a medical diagnosis. Will this still help me?
Yes. EAET is designed for people with real, medically diagnosed conditions. Chronic pain is very real—and this approach helps address the brain and nervous system’s role in amplifying or maintaining pain, even when the original injury or illness has healed.
What if I’m receiving disability benefits for my pain?
We understand that financial support can be essential for managing life with chronic pain. At the same time, it’s natural to have mixed feelings about getting better when your livelihood is tied to your diagnosis. We’ll explore these complexities with care and compassion—there’s no pressure to “fix” anything, only an invitation to be curious about what healing might look like for you.
Is this group covered by insurance?
Yes! We accept United Healthcare and Aetna. We’re happy to verify your benefits before the group begins.
What if I’ve never done therapy before?
That’s totally okay. This group is designed to be accessible and supportive, whether you’re new to therapy or have years of experience.
What if I miss a session?
We understand that life happens. While we encourage full attendance, we’ll provide resources to help you stay connected if you need to miss a session.
